EzPDFlibrary is a pirated version of Quick PDF Library
We don’t usually publicize copyright infringements of our products — we prefer to deal with these issues privately — but unfortunately due to the risk that innocent customers might purchase pirated software, we’ve decided to alert the general public.
EzPDFlibrary is a pirated version of Quick PDF Library. I won’t link to their website, but it’s not hard to find. They have stolen the source code, documentation and samples and re-branded it as their own. They are now selling this software to unsuspecting customers. This is of course completely illegal, infringes our copyright for Quick PDF Library and of course defrauds innocent people of hard earned money.
We’re taking the appropriate action against this company (contacting their payment processor, web host and more) but you could be of great assistance to us if you alert anyone you see mentioning the name EzPDFlibrary to the fact that this is pirated software and should not be used. Instead, they should look at Quick PDF Library (obviously!).
It might be “Ez” to pirate software, but it certainly was not easy to build such a powerful library as Quick PDF Library over the past 10 years, so we’d appreciate any help you can provide in alerting your fellow developers to avoid these fraudsters and bring them down.
Thank you.

Hi Rowan,
I have the source codes of a “big fish” library (Euros 1500 purchase) and it’s very, very similar to your QuickPDF library.
Can I contact you to show you it?

We purchased it unawares and would like to acquire it legally through you. Are there any special considerations for us since we didn’t know?
Please advise.

Hi Terrence,
Yes, we’ll be able to help you out. It might also be possible to get your money back from the thieves. I’ll respond to your support case.
Cheers,
– Rowan.

I have been looking for a PDF editor and came across both this product and their product which I am surprised is still selling today when this was posted in Dec. 2010.

Hi Paul,
Previously when we’ve contacted them they’ve taken the EzPDFLibrary “product’ off their website. Looks like they’ve put it back again. I’ll contact them (and their web host, search engines, PayPal, etc) again and start the process again.
This particular person is located in the Netherlands but tries to pretend that he’s in the US.
Did you buy EzPDFLibrary?
Cheers,
– Rowan.

Hi Paul/Row,
Yes, I am also equally surprised and dismayed that loslab.com have decided to continue selling their pirated variant of our software.
I have shared a short note from an email discussion that we had with loslab regarding EzPDFLibrary back late 2010.

EzPDFLibrary appears to still be on your website at this location:

Please remove it within the next 12 hours and notify me once this has been done. Remove every single reference of EzPDFLibrary from your website and delete all of the relevant source code, documentation and files from your computer.
We're investigating your other products to make sure that they do not make use of our technology. I suggest that if they do, that you remove them from your website immediately, or we will take further action.

I have already stop selling EzPDFlibrary and removed its pages from my website.
Sorry, But I don't want to say more, all things happen for their reasons…
The loslab.com is my registered domain name, and vispdf.com was bought from SnapNames for xxx dollars, those domain names are my private property so they cannot be give away, and the website behinds them is my ONLY income source.
{removed to protect the privacy of loslab.com}
If you do not buy those domain and (or) the HotPDF VCL, I will keeping selling & promoting HotPDF through those domain, I will not selling EzPDFlibrary or its variant anymore.

Hi Rowan,
I did not buy EzPDFLibrary. Before I found this Posting on your website it looked like a winning package for me based on the price and with source code ( I am a big fan of protecting myself with source code where offered). In addition, the pricing was attractive since I am a single developer that has not found a product to make it rich yet or for that matter let me quit my real job to concentrate on programming for myself :). I can see now why the product with source code was so reasonably priced. The link that was provided to me to see the EZPDFLibrary features and purchase it, magically does not work this morning. It redirects to the home page.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Yes, it’s a bit of a game of cat and mouse with this guy. He stops selling it when we ask him to and then quietly puts it up a few months later.
I hope you’ll still take a look at Quick PDF Library. The royalty-free license makes it a good investment if you build an application based on it. We also let you upgrade form a Single Developer license to a Source Code license by just paying the difference in price.
Cheers,
– Rowan.

What about azsdk? is it ok to purchase?
Comment by A.Kmr — January 2, 2012 @ 5:06 am
Hi A.Kmr,
I haven’t heard of azsdk before, however, their website looks very similar to the LosLab website and they are selling PDF solutions which look exactly like ours, so I would not purchase their software. I’ll be investigating azsdk further to find confirmation that they are illegally reselling our software under a different brand.
Check out our Quick PDF Library product, there is a 30 day free trial.
