Quick PDF Library Price Changes
A quick heads up to any customers who are currently evaluating Quick PDF Library.
As of the 1st of March, 2011, we will be increasing the price of our SDK by US$100 across the board.
This means that for a single developer license with standard upgrade protection the price will change from $249 to $349 and for a multiple developer license with standard upgrade protection the price will change from $489 to $589 and so on.
We understand that no one likes a price increase but we think most Quick PDF Library customers will agree that our PDF SDK offers fantastic value at an unbeatable price, and even with the price increase, it’s still an amazing deal.
The library will of course remain royalty-free meaning that you can distribute compiled applications that you build using our library to as many desktops and servers as you like with no additional cost. You just pay a one off fee for the developer license. That’s all.
If you have any questions about this change to our pricing please contact us at sales@quickpdflibrary.com and we’ll be happy to answer any questions that you have.

Will upgrades also go up or does this only apply to new licenses?

Hi Brandon,
Upgrade prices will also increase. So if you own a license of Quick PDF Library prior to version 7 and you want to upgrade to version 7, then the new upgrade price will be $209.40. Upgrade prices are 60% of the current retail price. If you purchase prior to the price increase then the upgrade price will be $149.40.
For customers who are currently evaluating Quick PDF Library at the $249 price then you can contact us at sales@quickpdflibrary.com if you need a week or two more to finish your evaluation. We appreciate that you may have begun your evaluation with a certain price in mind and indeed gotten approval from higher ups for a purchase at a certain price, so we don’t want to make anyones life difficult. Get in touch.
Cheers,
– Rowan.

Any news on if/when a component for pdf viewing might become part of the library?
Comment by Gary Jonardi — February 28, 2011 @ 8:02 am
Hi Gary,
We will have a beta of the PDF Viewer ActiveX component within a month, probably within the next couple of weeks. We’re just optimizing the loading/rendering/zooming code at the moment and then we’ll release a public beta.
The PDF Viewer ActiveX component will not be part of the library (though it is built using the library and customers could replicate its functionality), so a separate license will need to be purchased. We will probably have a special discount for existing Quick PDF Library customers but the success of the PDF Viewer ActiveX product will be a great benefit to Quick PDF Library because it will allow us to expand our development team.
Of course the PDF Viewer ActiveX component will be royalty-free.
Cheers,
– Rowan.
