Based on the code sample for streaming generated PDF's, I've earlier been experimenting on how to achieve rendering a page in Classic ASP and having it shown as a JPG/PNG in the browser.
I had no luck at this, but it is still a solution that would be most useful and definitely more convenient than "collecting" large amounts of temporary files on the web server like I did then.
Did you receive any error messages when you tried to run this code on your end? Was any content written by the SaveToVariant function? You could try using the SaveToFile function just to check the output to see if it succeeds that far.
